Why your inner child still shapes your life today
You may recognize this in yourself:
You feel rejected quickly, even when it’s not intended that way.
You adapt to be liked.
You put your own needs aside.
You feel like you’re not good enough — no matter how much you do.
Or you withdraw when things become emotional.
These reactions often happen automatically.
They feel like “this is just who I am” — but in many cases, they are old survival strategies formed in childhood.
This is where your inner child shows up.
These are the parts of you that learned early on to adapt, stay strong, please others, or withdraw — in order to cope with certain experiences.
And even though these strategies once helped you, they often still shape how you feel, think, and relate today.
In this workshop, we begin to make these patterns conscious — and give your inner child what it needed back then.
Inner Child Workshop in Dresden
Since our inner child loves cacao, we begin the workshop with a shared cacao and a short introduction to inner child work.
After that, we move into a first exercise where you get to know your inner child more consciously and begin to build a connection with it.
Through a creative painting exercise, we give expression to our inner child — not from the mind or with the intention to create something beautiful, but freely, using lots of color and water. In doing so, we let go of the controlling mind and enter our emotional world. This allows a genuine expression of our inner self to emerge and deepens the connection to our inner child.
From there, we deepen this connection step by step through various exercises. You learn how to hold your inner child and give it what it truly needs, allowing old survival patterns to begin to dissolve. As this happens, your inner child can begin to feel safe again, and patterns that have shaped your life until now start to loosen.
As these patterns dissolve, you will feel less easily triggered in everyday life.
Instead of reacting automatically, you gain the space to respond more consciously. Relationships become lighter, and beneath all the old patterns, who you truly are begins to emerge.
